The Skyrocketing Cost Of Medical Care

It is more important now then ever to advocate for yourself and your loved ones. In the world we live in today with job loss and loss of insurance, the more you know about navigating the medical system the more resources will become available to you. If you have lost a job and are in need of assistance, the first place to start is the county you reside in. County Services often have programs available to you in times of hardship. Some of the help includes emergency funds, prescription assistance, and Health Care programs for singles and families.
You want to make sure you get the best possible service available to you and quality medical care. Often times hospitals will offer programs you may qualify for to help reduce your bill. Talk to the business office.

If you ever believe you have not receive the best quality of care, you have the right to talk to a patient advocate and file a grievance. The hospital has an obligation to take your grievance very seriously and follow up with you in  writing. You can also request a reduction in your bill if you feel the care was substandard.

The rising cost of medical care still continues to spiral out of control. Sometimes a trip to your medical provider is unavoidable. It is more important than ever that you are prepared for your visit. Remember to make a list of questions ahead of time, if possible.
If you think you are not getting the answers you need you have the right ask to speak with a Patient Representative/advocate. The Medical community can stir many emotions during a time of increased stress. The maze of red tape can be confusing and overwhelming, a Patient Representative can help ease that stress. They will sit down with a family and patient and listen to their real concerns.
If you already have a sick family member, that needs to be your focus. A Patient Representative can help families communicate with the medical staff, work through any problems you might have and help you navigate through the medical system.
If you are concerned about your bill, a Patient Representative can guide you through the Insurance maze as well.
While each member of the medical staff can be an advocate, typically, they don't always have the time to follow a concern from beginning to end. Let a Patient Representative help you through a difficult time. They have many resources available to them to help you.
With Medical cost so high it is to your benefit to exhaust all the resources available to you.
Your Patient Representative is that person.
I will continue to update my site to provide you with the tools you need to navigate the medical community  in the most helpful cost effective way possible.
